I am a parent of a 12 year old with autism. I receive the Brimstone Bulletin, the newsletter published by Mothers From Hell 2. Not only are in articles informative, they are filled with humor! It is quite different from any of the other newsletters which I receive because of the zany stories, jokes & situations from everyday life that can look comical from afar. It is great therapy to be able to take a few minutes out of the day to enjoy an article from the Brimstone.
The Brimstone Bulletin also keeps me informed of upcoming conferences, updates on legislative issues and a listing of useful web sites. The Brimstone Bulletin has earned a spot on our coffee table!
I have to say I called MANY local agencies here in Illinois and one gave MFH2 website. Out of desperation I e-mailed Beth...Beth e-mailed me back EVERY single time with information, advice etc...Beth you are GREAT person !!Many {{{{HUGS}}} to you and Alex, as I know you're having a difficult time...Good luck with everything. This is a great group..
I just want to thank you for sharing. In addition to using this info for my son, I pass it to others in my role as a disability rights advocate. Many parents (and advocates) have benefited from the information and resources all of you share. And thanks to MFH2 for making this all possible. So again, thanks..
A bit of humor for you. . . last year one of the teachers at my son's school asked for a copy of your newsletter, the one about how to have fun at an IEP meeting. When I was giving it to her, the principal went by and asked for one too. Told her she probably wouldn't like it, but she insisted. She glanced down at it, her face went purple (she's a red-head) and went back to her office. Personally, the teacher (who is also a friend) and I are still laughing over it.
We had an ARD today and I wore my beautiful cream colored T-Shirt with the MFH2 logo on it. Before I left I was asked by the principal to please wear something over my shirt as one of the children had said something to her. The only child I saw talking to her was a very prudish Speech director that needs a rest because she has had my child for five years. I told the principal that it was wonderful that the child could read the first part of my shirt and if she wanted I could read the rest of it to the child. I just hope that these people don't read the Bible if they were offended by my shirt.
